Vittoriosa Stars and Qrendi registered comfortable wins in matches from the IZIBET Amateur League 1 on Saturday.
Godwin Emmanuel scored four as Vittoriosa Stars defeated Xghajra Tornados 4-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Emmanuel scored twice on 13 and 21 minutes and although Francesco Gusman reduced the gap on 76 minutes, Emmanuel scored again on 82 and 84 minutes.
On the other hand, Qrendi beat Zejtun Corinthians 5-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Isaac Abela put Qrendi ahead after just one minute and Leo Salgado doubled the score on the 19th. Ayesller Carvalho extended he lead on 67 minutes and Brandon Bray scored twice on 73 and 75 minutes. Stefi Cale converted a penalty for Zejtun six minutes from time.
Birzebbuga and Vittoriosa lead the way with 19 points, followed by Luqa and Attard on 18, Xghajra 17, Qrendi and Qormi 15, Mellieha 11, Kirkop 6, Gharghur and Pembroke 3, Msida and Zejtun 2, Marsaskala 1 and Rabat 0.
