Mqabba and Dingli Swallows closed in on leaders Victoria Hotspurs in the IZIBET Amateur League 2 as they defeated Mdina Knights and Siggiewi respectively on Saturday.
Goals by Ishmael Galea on 41 and 58 minutes handed Mqabba a 2-0 win over Mdina at the Sirens Stadium.
On the other hand, at the Luxol Stadium, Dingli beat Siggiewi 2-1. Andre Farrugia put Siggiewi ahead on 14 minutes. Jason Camilleri equalised on 69 minutes and Nathan Sciberras notched the winner eight minutes from time.
Victoria Hotspurs lead the way with 21 points, followed by Mqabba and Dingli on 18, St. George’s 15, Siggiewi 10, Mdina 9, Ghaxaq 8, Ta’ Xbiex 3 and Sta. Venera 0.
