BOV Challenge League: Valletta maintain four-point lead despite second consecutive goalless draw

Despite being held in a second consecutive goalless draw, this time by Zebbug Rangers at the Centenary Stadium, leaders Valletta stay four points clear in the BOV Challenge League on Sunday.

In fact, a goal by Ross McParland three minutes in the second half handed Pieta’ Hotspurs a narrow win over Marsa at the Centenary Stadium to move second, one point ahead of Marsa.

Sirens and Zurrieq shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Darren Borg put Zurrieq ahead on the 20th but by the end of the first half, Sirens turned the score in their favour courtesy of Trezeguet Zammit on the 41st and Thiago Nonato three minutes later. However, Sulahmana Mamadu Bah equalised twelve minutes in the second half.

On the other hand, a goal by Jean Carlos ten minutes from time handed Santa Lucia a narrow win over Lija Athletic in another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Valletta lead the way with 23 points, followed by Pieta’ on 19, Marsa and Swieqi 18, Zurrieq and Gudja 17, Mgarr, Sirens, Tarxien and Santa Lucia 16, Zebbug 10, Fgura and St. Andrews 9, Senglea 6, Lija 5 and Mtarfa 4.
