Marsa failed to keep the pace with leaders Valletta in the BOV Challenge League as they were held in a goalless draw by St. Andrews at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
At the Centenary Stadium, Zurrieq rescued a point against Tarxien Rainbows thanks to a goal deep into stoppage time. Claudio Murici put Tarxien ahead on the half-hour but four minutes in added time, Anderson De Barros levelled matters for Zurrieq.
Pieta’ Hotspurs moved fourth as they defeated Gudja United 3-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium thanks to a goal by Emmanuel Bio on 31 minutes and a brace by Hidesto Ueda on 76 and 82 minutes.
In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Senglea Athletic defeated Sirens 2-1. George Tetteh Attram put Senglea ahead on 10 minutes and although Ryan Mercieca equalised on the 57th, Attram notched the winner on 69 minutes.
Valletta lead the way with 32 points, followed by Marsa on 25, Tarxien 23, Pieta’ and Swieqi 22, Mgarr 21, Santa Lucia 19, Gudja and Zurrieq 18, Sirens 17, Zebbug 16, Fgura 15, Lija 12, St. Andrews 10, Semg;ea 9 and Mtarfa 7.
