Naxxar Lions obtained a third consecutive positive result as they hled Zabbar St. Patrick in a 1-1 draw  despite ending in ten men in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier Closing Round at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday. 

Naxxar remain at the bottom of the table but have now closed in on the remaining teams. Zabbar, on the other hand, are now sixth. 

The Lions had a perfect start taking the lead after just two minutes courtesy of Edward Bolanos. 

On 21 minutes, Zabbar could have equalised when Ito Yasukaze floored Kristian Keqi inside the area. Referee Matthew De Gabriele sent off the Japanese midfielder, awarding a penalty to Zabbar but Brian Gambarte’s effort was neutralised by Matthias Debono. 

However, on 72 minutes, Zabbar finally managed to level matters thanks to Strahinja Jovancic.
