UEFA Futsal EURO: Italy prove too strong for Malta

Malta suffered a heavy 11-1 defeat to Italy in a match from Group 2 of the UEFA Futsal EURO at the Palahockey Fanticini in Reggio Emilia.

The hosts took the lead through Gabriel Motta and Julio De Oliveira doubled the score. Antonio Molaro scored twice to put Italy four goals ahead and Venâncio made it 5-0 but by the end of the first half, De Oliveira and Venâncio increased the lead further.

In the second half, Italy added another four goals thanks to De Oliveira, Alex Merlim, an own goal and Enrico Donin with Malta scoring a consolation goal thanks to Mark Zammit in the final stages.
