Mellieha moved a step closer to securing their status in the IZIBET Amateur League as they defeated Gharghur 4-0 in a match from the Play-Out at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Marc Bolane Adonis put Mellieha ahead on 34 minutes and went on to double the score on 67 minutes. Sasa Glumac made it 3-0 on 83 minutes and Liam Spiteri added another four minutes later.
Kirkop United defeated Pembroke Athleta 3-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to Scion Cassar Grech on 63 minutes, a penalty by Quelin Micallef on 81 minutes and a goal by David Callus one minute in added time.
On the other hand, Rabat Ajax and Msida St. Joseph shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium. Mousstafa Robert Malool put Msida ahead on 9 minutes but seven minutes in the second half, Ousman Ismaila converted a penalty for Rabat.
Meanwhile in a match from the Top 6, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Xghajra Tornados shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Sirens Stadium, goals by Mario Jude Dominicus for Luqa on 15 minutes and a penalty by Francesco Gusman on 47 minutes for Xghajra.
Birzebbuga and Vittoriosa lead the way with 40 points, followed by San Gwann on 39, Xghajra 35, Luqa 34 and Attard 29.
