Futsal: Luxol turn defeat into victory

Champions Luxol St Andrews turned a defeat into a victory to beat the University of Malta 5-3 in a very interesting match from the Enemed Futsal Premier League.

The Universitarians established a double advantage but had to face the reaction of Gabriel Dobre’s boys who promptly turned the score in their favour.

Steven Camilleri and Jose Cristian Fernandez scored the first two goals for the University of Malta but Luxol hit back with goals by Jefferson Breno, Everton Veve, Luke Gatt, Marwan Telisi and Emil Raducu. Steven Camilleri scored another goal for the University of Malta to narrow the gap.

Ta’ Xbiex Futsal also had to come from behind to overcome the worthy challenge that Marsaskala Futsal gave them, winning 5-3.

The Seasouthsiders came out well and were twice ahead although Ta’ Xbiex managed to get the three points in their bid to make it to the final four.

Giancarlo Sammut scored a brace for Ta’ Xbiex with the other goals coming from Juan Bautista Conde, Liam Caruana and an own goal. Marsascala had Amir Ashtiyani scoring a brace and Hugo Vinicius scored the other goal.

In the Enemed Futsal Challenger League, Ħamrun SC Futsal NCMB easily won against the Maltese Under-19 selection, 7-0.

The Reds had already scored four goals by the end of the first half and in the second half, they were able to manage the game better. Amin Louati and Gia Nikvashvili scored two goals each while Hamza Harrat, David Bobokhidze and Ishmail Buhagiar scored the other three goals.
