Manuela Tesse names squad ahead of crucial UEFA Women’s Nations League matches

The Malta Women’s National Team will be back in action with two crucial UEFA Women’s Nations League matches against Georgia, aiming to improve their position in Group C2 as they continue their quest for positive results.

Manuela Tesse, the National Women’s Team Coach, has named a squad of 24 players for the back-to-back matches against Georgia, who are level with Malta on three points, having each won their respective matches against Andorra and lost to current group leaders Cyprus.

Malta will continue their campaign with an away fixture on Friday, 4th April, at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi (kick-off at 17:00).  Four days later, Malta will host Georgia at the Centenary Stadium (kick-off at 19:00) with both matches being broadcast live on TVM Sport+.

Tickets for the home match on 8 April can be purchased at tickets.mfa.com.mt.

As Malta aims to climb the standings, collecting points in these back-to-back matches will be crucial to their hopes of securing a strong finish in the group.

Head coach Tesse will be without Charlene Zammit for the first match as the experienced Birkirkara defender must serve a one-match ban after collecting two yellow cards in the previous two encounters.

On a positive note, defender Ann Marie Said returns to the squad after recovering from the injury that sidelined her during Malta’s last two outings.
