Floriana came back from a goal down to beat Marsaxlokk 2-1 in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier Closing Round Top 6 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
The Greens therefore returned to winning ways to join the Southseasiders, at least temporarily, on top of the table on 22 points.
Following a goalless first half, Marsaxlokk took the lead on 57 minutes when Alex Tanque sent Nikolai Muscat through and the latter slotted the ball past goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi.
Floriana equalised five minutes later when they were awarded a penalty after Fernandinho was brought down inside the area by Ryan Scicluna and from the penalty spot, Franklin Sasere converted.
Four minutes from time, Floriana notched the winner. Jake Grech delivered a corner from the left, Jork Becerra headed the ball down and Oualid El Hasni placed the ball at the back of the net from close range.
