Qormi defeated Marsaskala 4-3 at the Luxol Stadium in one of three matches from the IZIBET Amateur League 1 Play-Out on Saturday.
Goals by Christopher Galea on 22 minutes and Mikele Vella on 25 minutes put Marsaskala two goals ahead but Qormi turned the score in their favour with goals by Jayden Zac Borg on 43 minutes, Chris Saliba on 74 minutes, Cadu on 77 minutes and Warren Azzopardi on 86 minutes. Mikele Vella reduced the gap for Marsaskala on 92 minutes.
Pembroke Athleta registered a 4-2 win over Rabat Ajax in another match at the Luxol Stadium. Pembroke went three goals ahead thanks to Kyle Sciberras Balbi on 6 minutes, Weverton Gomes on 29 minutes and Lydon Sammut on 34 minutes. Zachary Tanti reduced the gap on 54 minutes but Jordan Vella made it 4-1 on 74 minutes. Jake Cordina scored a second goal for Rabat deep into stoppage time.
Kirkop United secured their status with a narrow win over Msida St. Joseph at the Sirens Stadium thanks to a goal by Matthew Borg on 18 minutes.
Qormi lead the way in the Play-Out with 41 points, followed by Qrendi on 33, Mellieha 33, Zejtun 32, Kirkop 30, Gharghur and Pembroke 22, Marsaskala 19, Rabat 8 and Msida 5. Rabat and Msida have already been relegated.
