Lija Athletic Women won the second final of the Enemed Women’s Futsal League after defeating Swieqi United LEC07 3-1 in a very exciting clash at the De La Salle Pavilion in Vittoriosa.

It seemed that Swieqi were going to win the championship as they were only two minutes away from the title after winning the first final 2-1. However, a collective effort by Lija Athletic helped them turn the score in their favour as they scored three goals in a relatively short time and eventually forced a third final.

After a goalless first 25 minutes of play, Swieqi went ahead through Demi Magrin.

In the last two and a half minutes, Lija turned the score in their favour after goals from Nell Zarb Cousin, Jasmine Vella Turner and Izabella Camilleri.

This means that a third final between Lija and Swieqi on April 30th at the De La Salle Pavilion will determine who willclaim the title.
