MFCA Awards 2025: Stefano de Angelis honoured as Coach of the Year in the 360 Sports Malta Premier

Birkirkara coach Stefano de Angelis was named Coach of the Year in the 360 Sports Malta Premier at the MFCA Awards ceremony held on Thursday.

Paul Zammit of Sliema Wanderers and Darren Abdilla of Floriana shared the runner-up spot in the same category.

Thane Micallef of Valletta was awarded Coach of the Year for the BOV Challenge League, followed by Jacques Scerri of Tarxien Rainbows.

In the IZIBET Amateur League, Jason Camenzuli of Vittoriosa Stars and Oliver Spiteri of Victoria Hotspurs were voted Best Coaches in the Amateur League 1 and 2 respectively.

Dorianne Theuma was voted Best Coach in the Assikura Women’s League while Romeo Schembri (Valletta) won the award for the Best Goalkeepers’ Coach.

In the youth categories, Etienne Vella (Naxxar Lions) was voted Best Coach of the Youth League, followed by Kurt Baldacchino (Mgarr United). Duncan Micallef (Balzan) won the award for Best Under-15 Coach ahead of Andrea Vella (Pieta’) while Ansil Briffa (Mosta) was voted Best Under-17 Coach ahead of Glendon Refalo (Pieta’ Hotspurs). Etienne Vella (Balzan) was named Nursery Head Coach of the Year.

In Gozo, Shaun Bajada and Daniel Bogdanovic secured titles in the Gozitan First and Second Division leagues respectively. Among coaches, , and Romeo Schembri was honoured as Goalkeepers’ Coach of the Year.

Meanwhile other awards went to Dunstan Vella (Floriana) as Best Player in the 360Sports Malta Premier, Shona Zammit (Swieqi United) Best Player in the Assikura Women’s League, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s Team of the Year ahead of runners-up Victoria Hotspurs.
