Swieqi United claimed maximum points from the first two matches of the Women’s National Beach Soccer League.
They defeated Parr Mela 8–1 thanks to an Oriana Bedingfield hat-trick, a brace by Therese Briffa and goals by Vanessa Carneiro, Michela Felice and Krista Montfort with Edna Vargas scoring a consolation goal for Parr Mela.
In their second match, Swieqi beat St. George’s 9–3. St George’s, who were making their debut, managed to take the lead but could not hold off their opponents who turned the score in their favour. Vanessa Carneiro scored four, Krista Montfort two, Mari Oliveira, Oriana Bedingfield, and Valentina Cabrales one.
Shakira Bugeja, Audrey Chetcuti, and Kirsty Paris scored the three goals for St. George’s.
Lija Athletic defeated Zero Sei 7–6 in an entertaining match. Jasmine Vella Turner scored a hat-trick and Ylenia Azzopardi netted twice for Lija, with Nell Zarb Cousin and Melissa Galea adding more goals. Zero Sei had Patricia Araujo scoring a hat-trick, while Rocio Robles found the net twice. Eliza Czik scored the other goal.
Howeve, Lija were later defeated by Parr Mela with an 8–7 score. Edna Vargas scored five for Parr Mela with Isabella Otero, Oumayma Jellili and Carol Salazar scoring the other three goals. Sarah Micallef scored four for Lija with Yasmin Vella Turner scoring twice and Ylenia Azzopardi once.
