The golden sands of Nazaré, Portugal, are once again playing host to the Euro Winners Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in European beach soccer. Among the elite clubs vying for continental glory is Hamrun SC, Malta’s premier beach soccer team, carrying the hopes of the nation into Group F of the 2025 edition.
Hamrun SC’s group is a formidable one. Their opening match, scheduled for Sunday, June 8, will see them take on Germany’s Bavaria Beach Bazis at 09:45. A day later, on Monday, they face Copenhagen BSC from Denmark at 09:00. They round off their group stage commitments on Tuesday, June 10, in a 16:45 showdown with BSC TSOR of Belarus on Pitch 4. Each of these fixtures represents a stern test for the Maltese side, but also a valuable opportunity to prove themselves on the European stage.
Their first opponents, Bavaria Beach Bazis, are one of the most respected sides in the German beach soccer scene. Founded in 2014 and based in Munich, the team recently claimed the 2024 German Championship. They have also enjoyed podium finishes in previous years, with a third place in 2021 and fourth in 2022. With a solid core of players and strong community backing – including a passionate fan group known as “Bazeria” – the Bazis bring both talent and energy wherever they go.
The second challenge for Hamrun will come from Copenhagen BSC, a club widely considered the strongest in Denmark. Also established in 2014, Copenhagen BSC is known not just for its competitiveness, but for its inclusive culture and commitment to entertaining football. They enter this tournament with momentum, having won the IV Torneo Internacional Alicante City & Beach in 2024, where they beat Marseille Beach Team 4–1 in the final. Their performances on the international circuit have also been impressive, including a top-eight finish at the World Winners Cup in Alanya, Turkey.
Hamrun’s final group stage opponents, BSC TSOR, are a dominant force in Belarusian beach soccer. Hailing from the city of Mogilev, TSOR are the reigning national champions after their 5–2 victory over Brest-Volga in the 2024 final. The team is also closely linked with the Belarus national beach soccer squad, which recently achieved runner-up status at the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Known for their discipline and physical style of play, TSOR are widely expected to challenge for the latter stages of this competition.
Hamrun SC, under the Maltese flag, head into these matches as underdogs but not without ambition. This is the squad that is going to Nazaré
