Birkirkara secured the services of Nigerian twenty six year old forward Franklin Sasere.

After starting his career at Ifeanyi Ubah and playing for Sunshine Stars in Nigeria, Sasere moved to Europe to join FC Lugano in Switzerland. He was loaned to Hamrun Spartans for 2020/21 and 2021/22 but was then transferred to FC Vaduz. In summer, he moved to Ujpest FC in Hungary but last summer, he returned to Malta to join Floriana. 

Birkirkara had earlier signed Jan Busuttil and Fran Lopez and confirmed Luis Cordova, Leandro Lacunza, Manuel Morello, Pablo Gaitan and Donovan Makoma and released Giacomo Volpe, Agustin Sandona, Larsson Coulibaly, Brian Esalo and Gnamien Yipke with Maxuell Samurai moving to Gzira United.
