Birkirkara signed Brazilian twenty five year old forward Lucas Ribeiro de Oliveira, better known as Macula.

A product of Fluminense, he had a spell wtih Estoril in Portugal and another with Maccabi Ahi Nazareth in Israel, moving to Malta in summer 2022 to join Marsa. In the January 2023 transfer window, Macula moved to Gzira United and although he left Malta to join Ventforet Kofu in Japan in summer 2024, he returned to Malta in the January 2025 transfer window, re-joining Gzira.

Birkirkara had earlier signed Jan Busuttil, Franklin Sasere and Fran Lopez and confirmed Luis Cordova, Leandro Lacunza, Manuel Morello, Pablo Gaitan and Donovan Makoma and released Giacomo Volpe, Agustin Sandona, Larsson Coulibaly, Brian Esalo and Gnamien Yipke with Maxuell Samurai moving to Gzira United.
