Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Lithuanian twenty nine year old midfielder Domantas Šimkus.

A product of LFF Akademija, he had a spell with Aalborg BK in Denmark at an early age before returning to Lithuania where he played for Atlantas and Zalgiris. Later he played for Hapoel Kfar Saba in Israel, FK Sabail in Azerbaijan and NS Mura in Slovenia before returning to Lithuania to join FA Šiauliai

The Spartans had earlier appointed Giacomo Modica as their new coach and signed Rafael Compri and Junior Djile with Steve Borg, Mattias Ellul, Mayron, Roko Prsa, Elionay, Mihael Klepac, Talison and Raphael Lopes, not retained or moving elsewhere.
