Birkirkara secured the services of Ghanian twenty eight year old attacking midfielder Geoffrey Edwin Kofi Acheampong.

Acheampong started his career at Right to Dream Academy in Ghana before moving to the USA where he was on the books of Cate School, Santa Barbara Soccer Club and Santa Barbara Gauchos. He moved to SC Bastia in France, Veracruz in Mexico, LA Galaxy II in the USA and AC Kajaani. He returned to Ghana to join Elmina Sharks but returned to Europe to join RoPS in Finland. Acheampong moved to Malta in January 2022 but in January 2023, he moved to Sliema Wanderers.

Birkirkara had earlier signed goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Martínez, Jan Busuttil, Franklin Sasere, Macula and Fran Lopez and confirmed Luis Cordova, Leandro Lacunza, Manuel Morello, Pablo Gaitan and Donovan Makoma and released Giacomo Volpe, Agustin Sandona, Larsson Coulibaly, Brian Esalo and Gnamien Yipke with Maxuell Samurai moving to Gzira United.
