Assikura Women’s League champions Swieqi United will be facing Agarista CSF Anenii Noi 2020 of Moldova in the semi-final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League first qualifying round Group 2. The draws were held on Tuesday.
The winner will be facing the winner of the other semi-final between Spartak Myjava of Slovakia and ŽFK Budućnost of Montenegro. Semi-finals are scheduled for July 30 and the final for August 3. The tournament will be played in Slovakia.
The group winner will then face ŽNK Mura of Slovenia in Group 1 of the second qualifying round in a semi-final which will then put the winner against the team which emerges as winner from the other semi-final between WFC BIIK-Shymkent of Kazakhstan and GKS Katowice of Poland.
The first and second qualifying rounds are played in the form of mini-tournaments with semi-finals, a final and (in four-team groups) a third-place match, all single-leg ties, hosted by one of the participating clubs.
In all cases, if the score is equal at the end of normal time, two 15-minute periods of extra time are played. If one of the teams scores more goals than the other during extra time, that team are declared the winners. If the score is still equal after extra time, the winners are determined by a penalty shoot-out. The winners of the finals qualify for the next round of their respective paths.
