Zabbar St. Patrick secured the services of Italian thirty-six year old forward Mario Fontanella.

A product of Napoli, Fontanella played for Barletta, Viribus Unitis, FC Mugnano, USD Noto Calcio, Sarenese, Bastia and Budoni before joining Floriana in summer 2015. In 2018, he moved to rivals Valletta. He left the Citizens in 2022 to join Al-Muharraq in Bahrain but one year later, he joined Al Yarmouk SC in Kuwait.

Zabbar, who have confirmed Aniello Parisi as their coach, had earlier signed Ryan Scicluna, Zean Leonardi, Nicholas James Agius, Samuel Gomes and Haroun Tchaouna.
