MPL sets up Solidarity Fund, to distribute €150k to other divisions

The Malta Premier League set up a Solidarity Fund thanks to which it would be distributing part of the income of clubs from the Malta Premier to the other divisions in the local game.

Malta Premier clubs allocated €150,000 out of their income for this reason. This amount is not coming from UEFA funds.

Challenge League clubs will be receiving 45% of this amount, National Amateur League I clubs 33% and National Amateur League II clubs 22%.

“This decision by the Malta Premier clubs shows that although there is no obligation, the Malta Premier League remains open to genuine dialogue and solidarity.”

“The distribution of funds to the National Amateur League I and II clubs is being done in accordance with all the rules and after the MPL took into consideration the reaction that there was to the way similar funds were distributed last year and following dialogue with the MFA,” concluded the statement by the MPL.
