Emilio De Leo names final squad ahead of Slovakia, Azerbaijan friendlies

Malta national team coach Emilio De Leo has announced Malta’s final 27-man squad ahead of next week’s international friendly matches.

The Maltese national team will face Slovakia on 1 June at the DAC Aréna in Dunajská Streda, with kick-off at 18:00. Malta will then take on Azerbaijan on 5 June at the Haladás Sportkomplexum in Szombathely, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00. These matches will serve as preparation for the UEFA Nations League against Andorra and Gibraltar to be played between September and November.

The players not to make it to the final squad for technical reasons or otherwise, are goalkeeper Matthias Debono, defender Jake Vassallo, midfielders Matias Garcia, Adam Magri Overend and Luke Anthony Borg, and forwards Nicholas Agius and Nevin Portelli.
