Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Norwegian twenty four year old left defender Tobias Bjørnstad.

A product of Strømsgodset IF, Bjørnstad had spells with Mjøndalen IF and Notodden FK before joining Örebro SK in Sweden. He then played for Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Bulgaria and 1.FC Phönix Lübeck in Germany before returning to Strømsgodset IF.

The Spartans had earlier signed Jake Grech, Emmanuel Ernest and Messie Biatoumoussoka while confirming the departure of Henry Bonello and Joseph Mbong apart from Mouad El Fanis, Blessing Eleke, Ivan Inzoudine and Michele Carboni.
