Twenty eight year old Colombian midfielder Jackson Mendoza joined Birzebbuga St. Peter’s.

A product of Once Caldas in Colombia, Mendoza moved to Quarteirense in Portugal but one year later joined Santa Lucia. Two years later, he moved to Gzira United where he spent five years, moving to Valletta last summer.

The newly-promoted side have confirmed Edgar Degabriele as their coach and had earlier announced the signing of Yuri Messias, Shaun Dimech, Sam Azimzadeh Tabrizi, Pietro Tomaselli and goalkeeper Matteo Chiesa. Alex Bruno, Miguel Azzopardi, Jacob Walker, Juan Bolanos, Zachary Cassar, Matthew Xuereb, Hubert Vella Genovese, Daniel Zerafa and goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi were confirmed while Charles Chibueke, William James England, Duvan Mosquera, Jamie Scerri, Chris Baker, Joey Reno Vella, Leo Agius, Randall Vella, Paul Lapira and goalkeeper James Pisani were not retained.
