Eder joins Balzan as Zabbar St. Patrick, Mosta continue to strengthen squad

The summer transfer window closed on Monday at midnight with a number of clubs signing new players in their bid to strengthen their squads. However players who are out of contract may still join new clubs even though the transfer window closed.

Thirty six year old Brazilian Eder joined Balzan from Hamrun Spartans. Eder had moved to Malta in 2020 to join Nadur Youngsters, switching to Hamrun two years later.

Mosta secured the services of twenty seven year old midfielder Neil Frendo on loan from Sliema Wanderers. Frendo, who had started his career at Mosta, played for Balzan and Pembroke Athleta before moving to Sliema Wanderers

The Blues also completed the signing of twenty one year old Nigerian forward Eugene Ebere and twenty four year old Nigerian midfielder Hogan Ukpa.

Zabbar St. Patrick parted ways with Adnan Basic but signed twenty year old Croatian winger Miloš Jovičić, nineteen year old Brazilian forward Luiz Fabio Sampaio, known as Favela, and twenty year old winger Aston Ellard. Ellard joins the club from Barnsley and has already made an appearance for the Malta Under-21 national team.

Gzira United, on the other hand, signed twenty six year old Ivorian forward Mohamed Ange Fofana.
