Xghajra Tornados defeated Marsaskala 5-2 at the Luxol Stadium in one of the four matches from the BOV National League II in programme on Saturday.
Dario Borg scored twice on 12 and 14 minutes and Victor Ifeanyi Mbata scored another two goals on 31 and 63 minutes to put Xghajra four goals ahead. Mirko Golubovic reduced the gap for Marsaskala with goals on 84 and 85 minutes but Ogechukwi Junior Ohalewe made it 5-2 for the Tornados.
At the Sirens Stadium, Gharghur and Ta’ Xbiex shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Miguel Curmi put Ta’ Xbiex ahead on 12 minutes but Gharghur equalised thanks to Max Kirkbride on 41 minutes and Jamiu Temilola Hassan made it 2-1 three minutes later. Miguel Curmi scored again for Ta’ Xbiex two minutes in the second half and Jake Chetcuti made it 3-2 on 65 minutes but Jake Agius levelled matters for Gharghur ten minutes from time.
In another match at the Sirens Stadium, St. George’s and Sta. Venera Lightnings drew 1-1, goals by Andrea Farrugia on 86 minutes for Sta. Venera and Ishmael Galea on 96 minutes for St. George’s.
At the Luxol Stadium, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Siggiewi earned a point each in a goalless draw.
