MFA celebrates UEFA Grassroots Day

Grassroots football is regarded as an important sector of the game as it caters for numerous youngsters who seek to flourish their talent in football. UEFA encourages initiatives by its member associations to further promulgate the game at its base level. A significant event in this respect is UEFA Grassroots Day during which different European federations hold activities to mark the occasion.

The Malta Football Association obliged when a special ceremony was held to provide further evidence that our association is toeing UEFA’s line of sowing the seeds in this fundamental area of youth football.

Over 400 schoolchildren of varying ages from different schools participated in a colourful morning session held at the MFA Complex at Ta’ Qali. It was a well-organised event which was backed by 30 MFA staff members and several helpers. The participants were in for a truly enjoyable day as they were able to give vent to their talents while parading their football skills.

At the end of the activity the youngsters were treated to fresh fruit and mineral water, courtesy by David Vella Trading and General Soft Drinks, respectively after which top officials of the Technical Centre thanked the school children, their teachers and all those who helped to organise the Grassroots morning.
