The Independent Arbitration Tribunal reduced the fine which the Board to Investigate Corrupt Practices had imposed on Vittoriosa Stars from €4,000 to €2,000.
The Tribunal, after considering Vittoriosa Stars’ appeal and the Malta Football Association’s reply, as well as the Appeal Board’s decisions, concluded that the decision “in its merit is a just one and deserves confirmation” but believed that “the four thousand euro (€4,000) fine imposed should be changed to a fine of two thousand euro (€2,000), due to the fact that relegation is a sentence which already impinges financially on the club.”
