Under-21 side faces Belgium on Wednesday

The Malta Under-21 side faces Belgium in another match from Group 8 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship at the Daknam Stadion in Lokeren on Wednesday, kick-off at 16:00.

This will be the sixth game for Malta following five defeats in the first five games. Malta lost 0-1 to Ukraine and Slovenia away from home and to Belgium at home and two home 0-2 defeats to Slovenia and France.

Malta coach Edwin Camilleri and his assistant Emmanuel Farrugia had to deal with a number of absences, mainly due to injuries. In fact, among the players not making the trip are Joseph Zerafa, Owen Bugeja, Mark Scerri, Warren Chircop and Julian Galea.

The eighteen-man squad that travelled to Belgium is made up of:

The team left Malta on Monday. Accompanying the team are: MFA vice-president Dr Peter Fenech, team doctor Dr Stephen Zammit, physiotherapist Simon Cilia and kit manager Alex Agius.
