A project which consisted of upgrading of facilities at the Gozo Stadium was inaugurated by Minister for Gozo Giovanna Debono in the presence of Minister for Finance, Economy and Investment Tonio Fenech, MFA president Dr Joe Mifsud, GFA president Alvin Grech and Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport chairman Bernard Vassallo.
The project was made possible thanks to a join effort by the GFA, the MFA, UEFA HatTrick Programme, the Good Causes Fund, the Ministry for Gozo and the Kunsill Malti ghall-Isport. The new facilities include four dressing rooms, two rooms for referees and facilities for the press and an office for the KMS.
In a speech, Minister Giovanna Debono praised the Gozo Football Association for their initiative and thanked those who contributed in one way or another to make this project possible.
On the other hand, Minister Tonio Fenech said the governement was determined to help sports clubs and associations have the best possible facilities which contribute to the complete development of chilren and youths. He also said that with such facilities, Gozo should also be able to attract more sports tourism.
