Public Broadcasting Services will be screening national team home matches after being awarded the rights by the Malta Football Assocaition. This was announced during a meeting of the Council of the Malta Football Association which was held on Tuesday.
MFA Treasurer Antoine Portelli announced that after the expiry of the contract for national team home matches’ TV rights, the association negotiated with both Melita and PBS, reaching an agreement with the latter. He said the association feels that national team home matches had be available on a free-to-air television station as a service to the general public.
Portelli also said that following the expiry of the contract with Smash Television for the filming of Premier League matches which were not screened live by Melita, the association offered other stations the possibility of filming these matches as a service for clubs that were interested in obtaining copies of matches on DVD. The contract was awarded to Media.Link Communications.
