Tarxien Rainbows, Vittoriosa Stars, Qormi and Floriana will be seeking the remaining two places in the U*BET FA Trophy semi-finals as the last two matches from the quarter-finals will be played on Sunday at the National Stadium.
In the first match, Tarxien Rainbows take on Vittoriosa Stars.
Tarxien are currently fifth in the Championship Pool and are challenging for a place in the UEFA Europa League. After losing four of the previous five matches, they returned to winning ways last week as they beat Hamrun 4-1. Vittoriosa seemed resigned to playing in Division 1 next season after losing the last four matches.
The Rainbows beat Balzan Youths 3-1 in the first round and Hamrun Spartans 3-2 after extra-time in the second. In the previous rounds, Vittoriosa defeated Gozitan champions Victoria Hotspurs 4-2 and then Marsaxlokk 3-0.
Tarxien defeated Vittoriosa twice this season, beating them 1-0 in both matches.
Brazilian midfielder Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira is ruled out after being sent off in the second round match against Hamrun.
In the second match, last season’s finalists Qormi face Floriana.
The Greens are currently third in the Championship Pool and are coming from a 0-3 defeat to leaders Valletta. Qormi, on the other hand, need two points from the remaining three matches in the Relegation Pool to secure their Premier League status. Last week, they lost 4-3 to Hibernians.
Floriana beat Lija Athletic 3-0 in the first round and Mosta 1-0 after extra-time in the second. Qormi, on the other hand, were awarded a bye.
Floriana beat Qormi twice this season in the BOV Premier League first phase – 1-0 and 4-3.
Daniel Nwoke is ruled out as he serves a one-match ban.
