Hibernians filed a protest against the result of last Friday’s BOV Premier League match against Floriana over the ineligibility of English defender Harry Agombar.
Agombar, who was making his debut after joining the club earlier during the week, was included as a substitute on the 90th minute, replacing Igor Coronado. Floriana won the game 1-0.
Hibernians stated that the player was registered with another three clubs – Macclesfield, Gray’s Athletic and Histon – and had already played for two clubs during season 2012/13 and therefore according to FIFA Regulations, he was ineligible to play for Floriana.
The protest is expected to be heard later this week.
