UEFA Grassroots Day on the 22nd May will be marked by an activity involving school children who will be participating in a series of small sided football matches on the day.
The event, under the auspices of the MFA, will this year be held on a regional basis at five different venues rather than at the training grounds at Ta’ Qali. In this way the playing sessions will be scattered over a wide cross-section of the island.
Five nurseries will be running the event held jointly with the Grassroots Department of the MFA with the collaboration of the KMS-SPU. Gozo too will be holding the activity under the jurisdiction of the Gozo FA.
Primary schools have been invited to take part in what should be an enjoyable morning. Four grades of pupils, from Grade 3 to Grade 6, will be able to show their football skills at the game.
The nurseries are St Patrick, Hamrun Spartans, Fgura United, St Andrew’s and Mosta.
