Second win for Nadur Youngsters

Gozo StadiumNadur Youngsters registered their second win in the GFA Melita First Division as they beat SK Victoria Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday. Brazilian striker Jonathan Soares was the hero for the Youngsters with a goal on the 44th minute.

Victoria Hotspurs defeated Kercem Ajax 2-1. Michael Bezzina put the Hotspurs ahead on 69 minutes but Joseph Chetcuti levelled matters six minutes later. However two minutes in added time, Mark Muscat notched the winner.

Xewkija Tigers beat Munxar Falcons 5-1. Joseph Grima put the Falcons ahead on 35 minutes but Xewkija scored five after the break to take home the three points. Kenneth Mercieca levelled matters on 58 minutes and Jason Portelli made it 2-1 three minutes later. Dene Shields scored twice on 77 and 87 minutes after that Mark Camilleri scored the fourth goal on the 80th.

In another match, Oratory Youths beat Xaghra United 2-0 thanks to goals by Shaun Attard on 48 and Oliver Farrugia on 69 minutes.

In the GFA Melita Second Division, Ghajnsielem were held in a 2-2 draw by Zebbug Rovers. Charlon Tabone put the Blacks ahead on the 4th minute and Joseph Attard doubled the score. However goals by Sylvan Galea on the hour and Antoine Camilleri on the 76th minute enabled Zebbug to earn a point from the game.

The other clash, between St. Laurence Spurs and Qala Saints also ended in a 2-2 draw. A penalty by Frank Attard and a goal by John Rapa on the 40th put Qala two goals ahead. However the Spurs made a good comeback with goals by Mario Cutajar on 64 minutes and Jonathan Micallef two minutes in added time to rescue a point.
