Twelve Premier League players suspended

20110417-114224.jpgTwelve Premier League players will be missing the first game from the second phase of the BOV Premier League after being handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner.

The players are Joseph Borg and Emmanuel Ibok Edet (Floriana), Johann Bezzina (Hibs), Jonas Ekani Rodriguez (Mosta), Roderick Sammut, Giorgio Gianola and Owen Bugeja (Qormi), Diego Carrillo Pendas, Dylan Falzon and Jonathan Bajada (Rabat), Ryan Sammut (Tarxien) and Francisco Arriagada Mella (Mosta).

Johann Bezzina and Jonas Ekani are ruled out of the Championship Pool clash between Mosta and Hibernians.

In the Relegation Pool, Floriana duo Joseph Borg and Ibok Edet and Qormi’s Roderick Sammut, Giorgio Gianola and Owen Bugeja are ruled out of the clash between Floriana and Qormi, Rabat’s Diego Carrillo, Dylan Falzon and Jonathan Bajada will miss the clash with Naxxar while Ryan Sammut is ruled out of the clash with Vittoriosa.

Qormi president Redino Apap was banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Clint Farrugia (Gudja), Lydon Micallef (Lija) and Douglas da Silva Silveira (Zebbug) were banned for one match while Jonathan Bugeja (Fgura), Wayne Sciberras (Gharghur), Mark Pullicin, Juan Galdes and Sinclair Camilleri (Marsaskala), Emilio Cornago San Pedro and Gilbert Camilleri (Mdina), Geoffrey Spiteri and Mauro Grioli (Pembroke) and Julian Spiteri (Senglea) were suspended for one match in Division 2.

Luke Attard (Attard), Shaun Gatt (Luqa), Mark Ellul (Qrendi), Mark Grech and Braden Cremona (Sta. Venera), Kurt Pisani (Swieqi) and Martin Portelli (Xghajra) were handed a one-match ban in Division 3.
