Joint-leaders Xewkija Tigers and Nadur Youngsters dropped their first points in the Melita First Division in Gozo as they were held in draws by Kercem Ajax and Victoria Hotspurs respectively.
On Saturday, Victoria Hotspurs held Nadur in a 1-1 draw. Rodney Buttigieg put the Hotspurs ahead on 38 minutes with Joseph Vella equalising on the 68th. On the other hand, on Sunday, Kercem held Xewkija in another 1-1 draw with Anderson Mendes Ribeiro putting the Ajax ahead on the half-hour and John Camilleri levelling matters on the 58th.
Oratory Youths defeated Sannat Lions 2-1 to move third. Fernando de Andrade put Sannat ahead two minutes in the second half. Thiago dos Santos equalised two minutes later and one minute in added time, Shaun Attard notched the winner for Oratory.
In another match, newly-promoted St. Lawrence Spurs registered their first win as they beat SK Victoria Wanderers 2-1. Jason Theuma put the Spurs ahead and two minutes later, Christopher Cauchi doubled the score. Oliver Farrugia pulled one back for the Wanderers on 72 minutes.
