The Appeals Board of the Malta Football Association lifted a six-month ban on Pietà Hotspurs coach Noel Coleiro following an incident after the BOV Premier League match between Floriana and Pietà Hotspurs which was played on December 13.
The Pietà coach was reported for head-butting Floriana player Steve Pisani but the MFA Appeals Board stated that it was not a case of head-butting as he did not attempt to hit the player aggressively or violently. The Appeals Board argued that Coleiro’s behaviour was equivalent to “ungentlemanly conduct”.
Coleiro was therefore fined €40 as stipulated by regulations since this was the case of a first offence.
He will be therefore be able to lead the team from the bench starting from this weekend’s clash with Sliema Wanderers.
