MFA requests documents from Italian prosecutor over Dirty Soccer investigation

The Malta Football Association announced that following the investigation named ‘Dirty Soccer’ which is being carried out in Italy, the association has asked the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio for more information and was informed that all documents are being held by the Procura della Repubblica in Catanzaro.

The MFA made a formal request to the Prosecutor in Catanzaro, stating that it had jurisdiction over persons involved in the investigation which could cause repercussions to the local game. For this reason, the MFA asked for the related documents in order to be able to start its own investigation.

Adrian Farrugia who has been serving as team manager of Mosta for the past two years and Msida St. Joseph vice-president Robert Farrugia were described as financiers in a large match-fixing scale covering matches from the Lega Pro and Serie D.
