Ghajnsielem move six points clear

Ghajnsielem move six points clear in the Gozo Football League First Division following a 3-1 win over Oratory Youths on Wednesday.

Milos Stojanovic put the Blacks ahead on the 34th and a brace by Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza on the 56th and 65th gave Ghajnsielem a comfortable three-goal lead with Christian Mercieca scoring a consolation goal on the 79th.

Kercem Ajax joined Xewkija Tigers in second place thanks to a 2-0 win over St. Laurence Spurs thanks to a goal by Shaun Attard seven minutes in the second half and a Jean Paul Mizzi penalty on the 90th.

On Sunday, Oratory Youths defeated St. Laurence Spurs 2-0 thanks to goals by Sam Frank Bajada on the 19th and Manwel Cordina on the 31st.

On the other hand, the Victoria derby between Victoria Hotspurs and SK Victoria Wanderers ended in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile in the Gozo Football League Second Division, third-placed Sannat Lions defeated Qala Saints 2-0 thanks to goals by Antoine Camilleri on the 28th and Josiah Buttigieg on the 49th.
