Dr Chris Bonett to join UEFA as Integrity Officer

dr-chris-bonettMFA Vice-President Dr Chris Bonett resigned from the post after accepting the job as UEFA Integrity Officer. He will take over his new job as from January 2017.

The Integrity Officer assists the Head of Disciplinary and Integrity in all integrity-related legal matters and takes the lead in dealing with the risk of match-fixing.

Dr Bonett has been serving as vice-president since 2013 and was re-elected to the post last July. He also held the post of Head Legal & Football Governance Department since 2010.

His resignation is the second high-profile resignation following that of General Secretary Bjorn Vassallo who took up the post of Director Member Associations in Europe at FIFA. Dr Angelo Chetcuti, who stood for election for one of the posts of vice-president during the MFA’s AGM last July, is favourite to take the role of general secretary.
