Ten Premier League players suspended

Ten Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Christian Bubalovic and Joseph Zerafa (Birkirkara), Alex Cini (Floriana), Antonio Orlando de Queiroz Machedo (Gzira), Andrei Agius (Hibs), Pedro Henrique dos Santos Calcado (Mosta), Zoran Levnaic (Pembroke), Ricardo Calixto Correa Duarte (Sliema), Felix Okon Udoh (St. Andrews), Matthew Tabone (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of the next league games in programme on February 24 and 25.

Bubalovic, Zerafa and Udoh are ruled out of Birkirkara vs St. Andrews, Tony and Matthew Tabone will miss Gzira vs Tarxien, Levnaic and Cini will miss the game between Floriana and Pembroke, Andrei Agius is ruled out of the clash with Hamrun, Ricardo Correa will miss the game against Valletta, Pedrinho is ruled out of the clash with Balzan.

Meanwhile Gzira kit-manager Don Spagnol was banned for one match.

In Division 1, Muda Fagebja and Isaac Chircop (Gharghur), Erjon Beu, Daniel Scerri and Yanis Tonna (Lija), Michael Cachia (Melita), Julian Sneyder Guevara Munoz (Naxxar), Christian Caruana (Sirens), Andrea Curmi and Shawn Borg (Zebbug) were banned for one match along with Vittoriosa official Kevin Mizzi.

Mark Ellul (Ghaxaq), Owen Amato (Marsaxlokk) and Bjorn Bondin (Qrendi) were banned for two matches in Division 2 while Davide Mula (Ghaxaq), Cleaven Zammit and Christopher Grech (Gudja), Gianluca Vella (Mgarr), Edward Bugeja (Siggiewi) and Kenneth Ekezie (Swieqi) were suspended for one match. Gudja team manager George Caruana was banned for two matches.

In Division 3, Riccardo Napoli (Ta’ Xbiex) was banned for three matches while Darren Caruana (Msida) and Msida coach Joseph Grech were suspended for two matches. Ayrton Buhagiar (Mdina), Christian Magro and Simone Crisafulli (Xghajra), Radnor Farrugia and Bjorn Chetcuti (Zurrieq) were handed a one-match ban.
