Victoria Hotspurs drop first points

Leaders Victoria Hotspurs dropped their first points in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division after they were held in a 3-3 draw by Ghajnsielem at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Ferdinando Apap put the Hotspurs ahead on the 19th minute and a brace by Elton da Silva on the 36th (penalty) and the 43rd gave them a three-goal lead with Everton Felipe Da Silva Santos reducing the gap before half-time. The Brazilian scored another on the 64th when he converted a penalty and equalised on the 71st for a great comeback by the Blacks.

On Friday, Nadur Youngsters scored five in the second half as they beat SK Victoria Wanderers 5-0. Marko Markovic opened the score on the 64th and Darko Krstic doubled the score five minutes later. Shaun Attard made it 3-0 on the 78th and three minutes later, Milos Nenadovic added another before Darko Krstic scored the fifth on the 90th.

An own goal on the 72nd minute gave Kercem Ajax a narrow win over Oratory Youths in another match on Friday.

On Sunday, Xewkija Tigers defeated Gharb Rangers 3-0 courtesy of Claudio Antunes on the 6th, Joseph George Vella on the 40th and Rodney Buttigieg on the 70th.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, St. Lawrence Spurs held Munxar Falcons in a 1-1 draw at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday. Frank Attard put the Falcons ahead on the 42nd but Mohammed Senussi Telessi equalised twelve minutes from time.

On the other hand, Sannat Lions beat Qala Saints 3-0 thanks to goals by Franci Kosova on the 35th and 55th and Oliver Farrugia on the 50th.
