Three teams on top as Hamrun hold Valletta in goalless draw

Three teams lead the BOV Premier League table as Valletta were held in a goalless draw by Hamrun Spartans at the National Stadium on Sunday to join Balzan and Gzira United on the 24-point mark, one ahead of Floriana.

For the Citizens, this was the second consecutive goalless draw after being held in a 0-0 draw by Hibernians in their last outing. The Spartans, on the other hand, collect a precious point to inch closer to sixth-placed Sliema while moving three points ahead of Mosta and four ahead of Birkirkara.

Hamrun had Dutch striker Wim Bokila making his debut after joining the club earlier this week. Joseph Zerafa, on the other hand, was missing for Valletta as he served a one-match ban.

The draw was a fair result as both sides had their fair share of scoring opportunities and neither side deserved to leave the pitch empty-handed.
