Xewkija Tigers dropped two important points in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division after being held in a 1-1 draw by Kercem Ajax at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.
Felipe Augusto De Oliviera put Kercem ahead after just six minutes with Danijel Bogdanovic rescuing a point for the Tigers eight minutes from time.
In another match, SK Victoria Wanderers returned to winning ways as they defeated Gharb Rangers 1-0 thanks to a Predrag Dordevic penalty twelve minutes from time.
Meanwhile Nadur Youngsters joined Ghajnsielem, SK Victoria Wanderers and Xewkija Tigers in the semi-finals of the First Division Knock-Out after after beating champions and league leaders Victoria Hotspurs on Wednesday.
An own goal after just five minutes put Nadur ahead who doubled the score thanks to Daniel Mateo Bustos on the 24th. Just before the end of the first half, Stanimir Miloskovic pulled one back for the Hotspurs but a Daniel Mateo Bustos penalty six minutes in the second half, extended the lead. The Hotspurs hit back with goals by Ferdinando Apap on the hour and Elton Alexandre Da Silva eight minutes later to level matters but Daniel Mateo Bustos notched the winner three minutes from time.
In the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Oratory Youths defeated Zebbug Rovers 2-0 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday, courtesy of a Francesco Cini penalty on the 5th and a Kersten Grima goal on the 87th.
In another match, Sannat Lions were held in a 1-1 draw by St Lawrence Spurs. Charles Mercieca put the Spurs ahead three minutes from time but Joseph Zammit equalised deep into stoppage time.
