Victoria Hotspurs close in on title

Victoria Hotspurs moved to just one point away from the BOV Gozo Football League First Division title after beating neighbours SK Victoria Wanderers 2-1 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Aud-Gustine James Obaje put the Wanderers ahead on the 21st minute but Shaun Bajada equalised five minutes later and Emiliano Lattes made it 2-1 two minutes in the second half.

In another match on Sunday, Kercem Ajax found no difficulty in beating Munxar Falcons 5-1 thanks to an Andrea Debrincat hat-trick on the 2nd, 10th and 66th and a brace by Thomas Vella on the 30th (penalty) and 52nd. Vladimir Tosic scored the only goal one minute in the second half.

On Saturday, Nadur Youngsters defeated Xewkija Tigers 3-1. Marcelo Barbosa gave Nadur an early lead on the 6th minute. Shaun Attard doubled the score on the 75th and four minutes later, Barbosa added another. Halleson Tiago Barbosa Honorato pulled one back four minutes from time.

In another match, Ghajnsielem defeated Gharb Rangers 3-0 thanks to a brace by Luis Andre de Melo Lima on the 21st and 95th and Naby Damba on the 85th.
