Hibernians secured the services of German thirty-three year old defender Jens Wemmer. He signed a one-year deal with the club.
A product of Werder Bremen, Wemmer moved to Wolfsburg’s second team in summer 2005 and three years later, joined SC Paderborn where he played 21 matches in the Bundesliga and 125 matches in the 2.Bundesliga. In season 2015/16, he joined Greek top side Panathinaikos but after the arrival of Andrea Stramaccioni as coach, he was left on the sidelines. He joined Tarxien Rainbows last summer.
Wemmer is the second new signing after Ferdinando Apap. The Paolites confirmed Marko Jovicic and Marcio Leandro Barbosa da Silveira.
