Lija Athletic maintained their perfect record as they registered a third win, beating Pietà Hotspurs 3-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday in one of the two BOV First Division matches in programme.

Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on the 7th minute, Leon Muscat doubled the score on the 29th and Erjon Beu converted a penalty on the 81st to seal the issue.

In another match, Qrendi defeated Fgura United 5-1. A penalty by Alex Nilsson on the 16th minute paved the way for Qrendi who doubled the score through Dhonatan Santos da Hora on the 21st. Ten minutes in the second half, Jonatan Fausto Silveira da Silva increased the lead and although Alejandro Toncheff pulled one back for Fgura on the hour, Dhonatan Santos da Hora scored another two goals on the 72nd and 87th.

Lija lead the way with nine points, followed by Qrendi on 7, St. Andrews, Qormi, Zebbug and Pieta on four, Pembroke three, Naxxar, St. George’s and Zejtun 2, Swieqi 1, Vittoriosa, Mqabba and Fgura 0.
