Melita took sole leadership in the BOV Second Division thanks to a fine 3-0 win over Rabat Ajax at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

Daniel Claridge put Melita ahead on the 31st minute and ten minutes later, Julian Abela doubled the score. Four minutes in the second half, Daniel Claridge sealed the issue with a third goal.

In another match, Marsa defeated Xghajra Tornados 4-1.

Shalon Diacono converted a penalty on the 28th and Paul Lapira converted another to double the score one minute in the second half. Luca Gatt made it 3-0 on the 53rd and Erik Pietribiasi added another on the 65th before Royter Degiorgio scored a consolation goal for Xghajra twelve minutes from time.

Melita lead the way with 6 points, followed by Kalkara on 6, Marsa 5, Zurrieq, Xghajra, Melita and Mellieha on 4, Marsaxlokk 3, Rabat and San Gwann 2, Zabbar, Mgarr, Luqa and Birzebbuga 1.
